5.00am

Awake, unable to sleep, bewilderment of thoughts. Starting the day with a shower, opening my laptop and starting work.

Resignment.

6.30am

Atop a mountain (if in name only), watching the light of dawn turn the sky an ever-lightening blue fringed with pale gold. Holding my breath with Nature Herself as the sun peeks over the horizon bathing everything in her golden-red light.

Peace.

9.00am

125mph through frost-covered fields and frozen ponds. Chocolate-box villages, houses adorned with spires of smoke. The golden glow of the sun slanting across the landscape as the world comes to life.

Enchantment.

10.30am

Bakerloo line train, crowds of people staring blankly at nothing, ignoring each others’ existence. Crouched in a corner listening to my colleagues discuss the day ahead.

Anticipation.

12.30pm

In an office on Wardour Street working with a client. Creating something from nothing, turning a mess of ideas and inspirations into something workable. Finding a solution to a problem.

Confidence.

14.30pm

Walking down Carnaby Street, the colour and vibrancy bordering on sensory overload. Weaving my way through the human throng, memories of creativity echoing in my mind.

Exhilaration.

16.00pm

Alongside Majesty, 125mph once more through countryside glowing in the afternoon sun. Hardly noticing as I turn ideas into reality, making the conceptual tangible.

Productive.

17.30pm

90mph through Welsh countryside, running out of steam and closing my laptop, surrendering myself to the view from the window. Switching off.

Achievement.

19.00pm

Home.
